Heroic times

Massive post incoming. At least one line!

Is wanting more responsibility in a guild when you’re growing more and more jaded the same as getting engaged when you’re considering breaking up?

Or is the analogy incorrect because in one case nothing is changing while in the other, the guild one, you’re potentially going to address the issues leading to your frustration?

I think the analogy is probably correct.
Having more responsabilities and probably more problems in a context that you are already frustrated with woun’t take that frustration away… That’s my POV…

Why don’t you take Blizzard advice and experience one of the other great games out there?
I’m not telling you to leave wow, just to intercalate between the two!
Have you experienced the amazing starcraft 2?

If you genuinely think that you can actually fix the issues you’re having with your guild, then there is no reason to not attempt to try to fix them. But if you’re more certain that trying will lead to more frustration and WoW-angst, I’d say it’s not worth it and to stick things out as long as you can and enjoy the people/things about your guild that made you stay as long as you have while you still do enjoy them.

Obviously this won’t help you, but I’ve found I enjoy the game way more when being able to log on is a treat. Finished my homework? WoW time, yay! Studied up for that midterm? WoW time, yay! Even leveling archaeology is fun for a while now. *shrug*

I think it can go either way. If you’ll have a chance at actually changing some things in the guild that you don’t like – go for it.

But also consider that a lot of times guilds/officers are very set in their ways and it can be similar to trying to move a large boulder, or a mountain.. In which case it will be more frustrating than anything.

However, if you can actually get some things to change, and you think it’ll make you happier/more content – I guess there’s no reason not to try.
